On multiple occasions, Supervisor Mary Hosler and Town Attorney Kenneth Farrell have implied that the Town Clerk as Evans FOIL Officer is responsible for the denial of documents.

For the record, from my observation of the FOIL process, it is my understanding, related to me by several town employees, that

the Supervisor and Town Attorney review all FOIL requests and then direct the FOIL Officer as to the Town's response.

In a town where the supervisor micro-manages every detail of town government, it is ludicrous to believe the supervisor's explanation that FOIL denials are the sole decision of the FOIL Officer.
