Since 2007, I have obtained the Town of Evans' assessment data exported to a Microsoft Excel file. Below is an email received from Evans assessor Jeneen Hill that includes the 2018 assessment data in Excel format as an attachment.
In 2019, 2020 and 2021, the Town of Evans denied the FOIL requests for assessment data in Microsoft Excel format. The FOIL request included a legal opinion obtained on the NYS Committee On Open Government (COOG) website.
I contacted the COOG about the denial. Below is their email. (NOTE: The COOG email shows that Mary Holl, Supervisor Mary Hosler's assistant, received a copy of this email.)
Even after being contacted by the NYS COOG, the Town of Evans declined to provide assessment data in the requested Microsoft Excel format.
